There are many reasons of course, most of these are due to the individual persons circumstances, in the past people who worked from home were only a tiny minority, mainly professional people who were running there own business, such a lawyers and other professionals, but with the internet and now with broadband there are opportunities for almost everyone, so what is stopping you? Here are five good reasons to get you thinking.

1. Make your own hours. – As a working mother or father, working from home can work around the kids; you work when they are out at school, and when they return you can go back to being the parent again.

2. Wear what you like. – You have no need to dress up, no worries about who is wearing what at the work place, you can be as casual as you like, but do keep some formal clothes for meetings, and they are required sometimes!

3. Be your own boss. – Whether you work for a company or have you own business, you are free to have a break when you like, pop out for emergencies etc, you have no one looking over your shoulder. As long as you get the job done on time, who cares exactly when you do it?

4. Save money. – I like this one! You have no travel costs, no lunches to buy, and all those other expenses that add up over the year, just think about how much extra it would cost you to go to work and you will be very surprised indeed.

5. Good for the environment. – A lot of people agree, that by working from home reduces the population that is made by driving and even using public transport. If more people were able to work at home just imagine how quiet the roads would in the rush hour!

As you can clearly see now, working from home has many advantages and in fact there are not many disadvantages to it.
