If you are serious about working from home, and more to the point running a home business you need to be sure that the people that you are dealing with are real people and not just criminals out there trying to rip off some unsuspecting people.

Unfortunately there does appear to more scams out there than real opportunities, not just on the internet but also in the press and in magazines, these people place realistically looking adverts which have the appearance of being a legitimate business opportunity but their goal is to obtain money off of people, money that some cannot afford to lose.

Most people will say that “I would never get conned like that” but these scammers are operating very sophisticated operations now, it is very hard to tell what is genuine and what is not, but you need to ask yourself one thing, when you are writing out your check, what are you going to get and can it be obtained free of charge from other sources, it normally can if it is just information.

A good way of finding a great business opportunity is to research successful entrepreneurs, there are 1000’s out there and there is a lot of free information on how they started and how they managed to build a successful business from home.
