It is estimated that there are more than half of all US government employees who take work home with them, this maybe for just an evening or weekend, and it is mainly to do with catching up with work that they have got behind on.
The figure of over 50% was gained from a survey taken by the Tele work Exchange, they campaign for more opportunities to be given to teleporting, but it was only a year ago when a laptop belonging to an employee of the Dept of Veterans Affairs, the laptop had details of 26.5 million veterans and their families on it.
The problem with this is that this is unofficial home working, where a worker takes home a file, papers or laptop, to them this is just work, but to the rest of us it is our lives.
Official steelworkers and authorized home workers are trained in security and the equipment that they use is specially prepared with security tools etc, which make the whole process safer for everyone, unofficial home working does not have any of the safe guards.
It is these sorts of practices that are harmful to the whole working from home movement, companies and government depts. need to get to grips with the security issues, especially when dealing with the personal details of the public.
