Yesterday, I mentioned that a domain name is a good idea for your home business. Unfortunately, setting up Web hosting for your own domain name costs money. The good news is that it doesn’t need to cost that much. I am actually enjoying the Web hosting I receive from DotEasy.
DotEasy offers free Web hosting (which I am using), and also offers premium packages for as little as $7.95 per month. The template is refreshing, in that it is possible to personalize your Web site and domain name while still looking professional.
But there are costs. Whenever you get a domain name (and it has to be available), you have to pay for it. And DotEasy requires that you download an FTP program for file transfers. I did have to front about $50 for the FTP program and to get my domain name for two years. But that’s not bad, considering I don’t have to have ads on my site, it’s my own name and the Web hosting portion is free. Not bad.
