Sometimes a client does pay as he or she should, but the demands keep piling up. Or the client doesn’t pay, but you keep working on the project, figuring that you’ve put in so much work that you can’t stop now and risk nothing.
When you first start out in freelancing, some of these scenarios seem inevitable. But if you get to a point where you can pick and choose your projects, it’s amazing how many headaches go away because you can say "no!"
Here are some clues that a freelance client may not be worth the aggravation:
*Keeps changing the project scope, outline or deliverables
*Pays slowly
*Offers a big project, but no pay until the very end
*Adds demand upon demand
*Your hourly rate continues to plummet
*The project takes so much time that you don’t have time for anything else

Good tips! It's very important to remember that you don't have to take a freelance job. If the client isn't clear about what they want or seems unreasonable, just say "no."
