Sometimes it can be difficult to make working from home, er, work. Distractions, the desire to just get one more thing done and more can be wearing on the person who runs a home business. I liked this advice from CNN Money about what you can do to help your home business be more manageable:
- Let others know that what you are doing is work.
- Establish boundaries and regular work from home hours.
- Create a specific place for your home business activities.
- When you finish the day’s work, or your specified hours are complete, finish up for the day.

Trying to convince people that what you're doing is really work is the hardest part. From other moms ("Surely you can pick my kid up from school since she's sick and I have to work") to my own family ("Can you go stand in line and wait for this preordered game for me? Thanks, I have to work") to my own husband ("Can you make lunch? I need to take a nap before I go to work"). I struggle with that every single day.

No kidding! That is the hardest part. For some reason, many people think that if you work from home, somehow what you are doing isn't actual work. I need more than two hands to count the number of people who say patronizingly, when I tell them I'm a writer, "How nice for to make a little money on your hobby."
I make more than "a little" money. I'm the primary breadwinner in our home with my "hobby."
