One of the biggest items that cuts into the productivity of working from home is checking my email. I have a little sound that goes off each time I have a message. And I check it almost compulsively. Which is why I’m thinking I need to make a change.
One of the ways I can increase my home office productivity is to change things around so that I only address my email at certain times of the day. Preferably after I’ve finished a project or a segment of my work. Then I go through and answer everything at once, rather than interrupting my workflow to look at every new message.
And I can prioritize. If it can wait til the end of my "work day," I think from now on it will.
What’s your biggest home office productivity problem?
